Albert Boxler Réserve Alsace Pinot Blanc 2014

$39.99

Domaine Albert Boxler is a small family Domaine founded in 1673 that began bottling their own label in 1946 and today, under the guidance of winemaker Jean Boxler, produces wines using time-honed traditional techniques. This 100% Pinot Blanc cuvee is produced with organically farmed fruit all from three different parcels on granite andamp; limestone soils in the Grand Cru site of Brand. The grapes are hand harvested and undergo native yeast fermentation in large neutral foudres. It has all the hallmark density and complexity that you'd associate with Grand Cru Alsatian wine, but because it is not made from one of the AOC approved grape varieties, it can't be called Grand Cru. Thankfully it's not priced like one. It's spicy and crisp with a touch of viscosity on the palate but finishes bone dry and mineral drenched.

Fat, savory, with acid for days. I’d like it ten years older. Great shit.
