Reddish amber and tawny. Nice soft old Barolo nose. Notes of ripe cherries, some black licorice, dark moist soil, a little tar and some rose petals. Silky in the mouth. Don’t think this can get any better with more age. Good stuff.

Double Mag. Had this saved for awhile. Amazing. Got it right from the winery and had been in my cellar since. If you have a 750 of this it's time to drink. If in a larger format plenty of time left.

Opened and given 7 hrs of air; amber color mostly translucent; fragrant nose with notes of warm berries, anise, tar, smoke and dried rose petals; rich and round with great balance in the mouth; great food wine

While there was no obvious problem with the wine - i.e., not corked nor oxydized or madeirized - this was just not pleasant. Herbaceous in a very aggressive way. And giving it more time didn’t seem to help. Strange...

Dark and pure fruit. A touch wild with brambly tobacco fruit and a slightly sour note. Very good purity of fruit. Slightly tart on the finish but really good fun
