Meo-Camuzet’s Oregon collaboration. Dark fruits, sap. Noticeably oaky. Not as high-toned or polished as Drouhin’s Oregon PN, but satisfying and very good. #meocamuzet #oregon #pinotnoir

Needing my Méo-Camuzet fix tonight and none of the '14 French bottles will be ready for years/decades, so off to OR must I go! Cherry/raspberry jam on a a well sanded oak plank (so you don't get splinters on your tounge of course!), peripheral strawberry notes starting to appear along with plum and damp earth. Always amazed at how dark this wine is, inky for a Pinot.

It is Thursday night and spring has just sprung, thunder rolling in the background with a spring rain escorting in warmer weather for the weekend. Tonight I have chosen the 2014 Nicolas & Jay Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. This wine was the #96 wine on Wine Spectators list of Top 100 for 2016. The wine has a beautiful deep garnet color. The aromas are red fruit driven with notes of cranberry, strawberry, and raspberries that transition into nice clove and cola notes. On the palate I get tart bing cherries, cranberry, plum, raspberry, black tea with herbal notes at mid palate ending with toasty oak and wet forest soil. The wine is a medium bodied wine with rich medium smooth tannins and gives us ample medium + acidity that brings it all together. A nice fresh long finish that can be enjoyed any time with any food. Let's all have a great start to the weekend and be safe doing it. Nostrovia!

Nose: dark and concentrated with dusty rose and cherry. Hot on the nose but not too much on the palate. Underripe black berry, dusty rose, no detectable oak, dark fruits. Very well balanced. .

On the nose, dark fruits and beautiful red flowers. The is broad and fresh. Dark cherries, black plum, minerality has smooth edges, rich moist earth and a long round elegant finish. One to cellar for further reward. Barrel tasted the single vineyard 15's that will go into bottle in December. All three a special and should be in anyone's collection or Oregon Pinot's.

Quite tannic with blue fruit hidden underneath toasted oak, peppercorn and asphalt.
