The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has an effervescent bouquet with orange zest and almond scents. Seaspray touches come through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a pleasant sour lemon twist on the entry, relatively fresh and tensile with a brisk, quite peppery, lemony finish that lingers in the mouth. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, December 2023)

The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a clean, precise, more floral bouquet than the Valmur; white flower petal scents infuse the citrus fruit, along with a hint of egg whites. The palate is well balanced, taut and linear, with great poise and nervosité, leading to an intense and very persistent finish. This will vie with the Valmur as best Grand Cru. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2021)

9.4Tobin Spratte
Notes of green apple, fresh cream, and that characteristic Kimmeridgian chalk that makes Chablis unique. Those flavors carry over into the mouth which has a perfect balance of light creaminess, acidity, and fruit. Bit of fresh-cut pineapple on the tongue. Very long, exquisite finish.
