This is Emily and Christoph’s take on what is perhaps the defining grape of Franconia: the noble and mighty Silvaner. This is their densest and most textural wine – and this includes the rosé and the red. Here we have a burly, soil-driven wine, wide and pushing, mineral yet gylcerin-rich and textural. It is at the moment perhaps a bit coiled up, introspective – a decanter or a few hours open lets the wine begin to spread its wings. This is impressive and young.
