Quinta da Boavista’s Dão Terras de Tavares 2002 is an elegant, austere red that has mellowed into a translucent, garnet‑edged wine with lifted red fruit, dried herbs, and a spine of bright acidity plus fine, still‑present tannins. It drinks like a mature, old‑world classic—think dried cherry, forest floor, and a subtle leathery length—so it’s best with simply roasted meats or hard cheeses rather than anything heavy. Interesting especially the year. Definitely didn’t taste that aged. Some leather and oak on the end. Pleasant. Would consider getting again but didn’t absolutely love. Kurt rec.
