This is a completely unique wine from a winery that makes a bunch of unique stuff. Golden Cluster in Oregon makes this entirely from a vineyard of the first Sagrantino vines ever planted in OR. This isn't your big, brawny, tannic beast that you normally think of from Umbria, though. Rather, it's a wine of delicate, aromatic precision and subtle depth. Transparent red fruits, racy acidity and wonderful, chiseled herbaceousness make for one of the the coolest wines you'll encounter from the entire state.
