Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey NV

$84

Garrison Brothers' Texas Straight Bourbon is very unique in two important ways - One is that it's made from the highest quality food grade Texas corn, something that originally happened as an accident, but resulted in such great whisky that they stuck with it.  The other unique element to it is the fact that, to avoid casks exploding due to the extreme diurnal temperature shifts in Texas, the distillery uses barrels that are twice as thick as normal Bourbon casks, resulting in a deliciously natural and singular wood nuance in the whisky.  Dry, spicy and robust, this is a new favorite of ours here. I’ve enjoyed Garrison Brothers’ Bourbon for many years now, and have gone through more than my fair share of bottles. Now, at long last, I’ve decided to indulge once more and get another bottle so I can make my all-time favorite Old Fashioned (called the “Hye Fashioned,” which is served at Four Seasons Austin’s lobby bar/lounge, Live Oak). Today was my first attempt at re-creating this sensational libation at home, and it was a hit
