A sophisticated Syrah in the style of Northern Rhône. Signature Syrah peppery note with violet, olive, incense, licorice, red berries. A little funky yet the palate is very clean. Light on its feet but extrude power and elegance. Failla, specializing in single vineyard cool climate Chard, Syrah, and PN, is a fantastic new discovery for me.

A rare solid Napa Syrah. It’s like a fruit-forward crozes-hermitage, with varietally correct notes of bacon, leather and black pepper with nice floral notes that take a back seat to rich blackberry and blueberry. Firm tannins and good acidity with expressive fruit and a savory backbone.
