When Eleni Vocoret went to declare her 2021 vintage, she miscounted the actual number of barrels of her fantastic lieu dit Bas de Chapelot (which sits just outside of 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre), so she actually had an additional cuve of a totally delicious, textbook Chablis that she couldn't call Chablis, much less Bas de Chapelot. The result is today's wine - juice that would otherwise we an insanely good Chablis for the money that, instead, has a humble (if playful) VdF label on it. It's going to scratch every itch you have for utterly classic, flinty/chalky/stony Chablis...the kind with a nice bit of nutty breadth to it, but for a few bucks less than it'd otherwise be and with a fun/funky label on it. Vintage: 2021 Country: France Region: Chablis Appellation: Vin de France Grape: Chardonnay Farming: Organic Drink: Now-2030
