On the tiny, picturesque island of Ischia, off the coast of Naples, the perfect confluence of Mediterranean, seaside climate and high-altitude vineyards results in this fabulously complex, incredibly volcanic and positively delicious Kalimera Bianco. Made of the local Biancolella varietal, it's aromatic, lively, briny, smoky, pine-y and solidly mineral, the broad texture and cheese-y nuance is truly fantastic. Very intense white, with concentrated flavors and acidity. Mediterranean salt, minerals, citrus peel. From a tiny island off the coast of Napoli. Great stuff, but definitely a food wine (13% abv). With tonight’s dinner of Italian eggplant shakshouka and sweet potatoes in sesame tahini butter. Blue Raspberry Sour Patch Kids for dessert.
