Revisiting 2019 a few years on since first tasting it. It’s a nearly black wine, with plums and minerals on the nose. Maintains its mouth-filling fruit and graphite notes with drying tannins and a zippy raspberry acid in the finish. Big and delicious still.

Ripe, deep red, rich and round. Nice balance of dark berry fruit and zippy acidity. Nice aroma of blackberry, plum and earth. One of California’s great QPV bargains. Burgers, sautéed Zucchini, and very fresh mashed potatoes…. Fall/winter comfort food and wine.

Continuing the first, benchmarking tastings of Bedrock’s 2019s, the California Syrah is fantastic and at $25 direct from Bedrock, it may even surpass that. It blends some great vineyards from up and down the state into a wine full of berry jam, briar patch, smooth tannins, and some florals from a touch of Viognier. Saturday night taste at Tuesday night prices with aging potential!
