Occhipinti SP68 Bianco is a dry, organic and biodynamic white wine made with the Albanello and Moscato de Alejandría (Zibibbo) varieties and produced by the revered Arianna Occhipinti, in Sicily, Italy. "The name of a road, for a wine that is a journey", is the perfect and forceful description that Arianna Occhipinti gives to her Occhipinti SP68 Bianco, a wine that refers to the Strada Provinciale 68 as a tribute to all those peasants who have traveled along this road from the countryside for three thousand years, first with amphoras and then with barrels containing the fruit of their labor, fatigue and joy, and the aroma of their land. This beautiful skin-contact white is wonderfully aromatic and elegant. The nose presents memories of Mediterranean herbs and white flowers accompanied by a fruity note that combines aromas of pink grapefruit, lychees and white peaches. On the palate it is a light and frank wine, with a fresh and almost herbaceous note and with a dry finish. Vintage: 2022 Country: Italy Region: Sicily Appellation: Terre Siciliane IGT Grapes: 60% Zibibbo, 40% Albanello Farming: Organic & Biodynamic Drink: Now-2026

Exotic. Dried tangerine peel, flowers and herbs, lemon zest and a tingle of spiced honey. Absolutely takes off with cuisine, had Sicilian shrimp and pasta with it. Really showed its depth and expansive qualities.

Pungent florals, ground ginger and grapefruit form a zesty bouquet as the 2022 Bianco SP68 opens in the glass. It’s soft and round. Juicy acidity and tropical citrus tones enliven its tart orchard fruits. This finishes surprisingly long, leaving exotic inner florals and sour melon notes to fade slowly. What a treat. The SP68 Bianco is a blend of Albana and Zibibbo. (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2023)

Some grapefruit, orange peel, apple cider notes. A bit of bitter as well. This has some skin contact. Golden color.

Worried it might be a little natty for my taste at first but the funk blows off quickly to reveal a fragrant & expressive wine—orange peel, orange blossom, fennel pollen, pumpkin and a gorgeous salinity. It’s a wine that really sings with seafood. Had it with Provençal Cod with olives and fennel. Her winemaking talent really shines in the texture—particularly the finish. Definitely a lot of skin contact here, but the tannins are elegant and the finish is crisp, salty and refreshing —no graininess or bitterness. Like Stanley Tucci says to Arianna, “I could bathe in this wine”

Slight skin contact here. Handled adroitly to get complexity without any bitterness.
