A wonderful, fully mature example of Portugal's magnificent Baga grape, which is often compared to Nebbiolo in its firm structure, yet nuanced character. This deep, complex red will remind you of an older Barolo, but with that unmistakable pungent earth and rustic grit that make Baga truly brilliant. Vintage: 2000 Country: Portugal Region: Bairrada Appellation: Vinho Regional Beiras Grape: Baga Drink: Now-2028

W&S Top 100. Now, this one is debatable. Bring it in here. I dig that a current release is almost 20 years old. But man I want to know what this tasted like 5 years ago, 10 years ago! The great aspect of owning a cellar and releasing at the will of ownership, you could “traunch-it”. Right? The leather and soft integration here seemed a bit too far. Certainly not gone. But 5-10 years prior, that is the decade I would have loved to try this.
