Lapierre to the rescue after a run of forgettable wines! Reduced at the outset, reveals special substance underneath. Lilac, macerated cherry, strawberry, herbs. Electric, super vivid and intense as expected. Just plain tasty. Glorious match w roast chicken

Beaujolais at its best. Big, pretty floral bouquet, bright and fresh fruit, followed by woody herbs, with an earthy undertone. Finishes forever and ever amen

Well structured with dark cherry, licorice and a lucious mouthfeel. The soft grip from the stem inclusion is a welcome addition and a strong acid lift ties everything together. It is a beautiful wine. Not fussy and utterly drinkable.

Fourth time tasting Lapierre in 2017. I've got a bit of a cold so I'm not enjoying this one as the previous ones. The nose is still a cherry bomb and bears a violet stamp. The palate is still very well balanced with a strong acid backbone, lots of ripe cherry all over the place, some grip, some width. The palate is a cherry song that plays for a very long while. 24 hours later it's still singing. Great!

This one is hard to rate. It’s not too anything. Its as if it’s trying hard to please everyone and offend no one. As such, paired reasonably well with a variety of dishes.

And the winner is.... Lapierre! For their generic village morgon we have then Lapierre morgon 2017 > foillard morgon 2017 > thevenet morgon 2017. Lilac, ripe cherry, iron, cola, violet, candy cane. The ripe cherry makes a difference. There is a bit of reduction too that goes away after a while. I love this nose. The palate is wonderful. A strong acid backbone, some tannins in the rear, a bright ripe cherry all along, some grip, a mineral layer too. It is very quafable and in the same time shows some complexity. The finish is long with cherry and Lilac or rose notes. Wow this is very well crafted. This Beaujolais fix is a blast!
