Impeccable. Earthy, lilac, hints of cedar, light chocolate. Deep. Rich and constantly changing - lengthy flavor. Tar, spice. Mid-weight on palate. Defined acid and tannin relationship. Great time to open this.

This was pretty epic. It needed a nap and it is ready to roll.

I had this vintage of Francia some years ago and I wasn't satisfied with the wine as it appeared very withdrawn, dark and a bit rejecting. Now it slowly opens up, showing more fresh fruit aromas, tar and some floral notes. Lively acidity, nice fruit and polished tannins on the palate. Give it one more decade and this Francia will turn into a real beauty.

Another Francia with a more open mind than the 98 I had some weeks ago. Beautiful nose after quite a bit of time in the decanter and the glass. Not as tannic as I had thought. Give it ten more years.

Nice, just light and fruit is not as concentrated/ripe as I would have suspected/hoped for.

Medium ruby , touch of garnet but young looking . Quite a lot of red fruits , red currant , mint . Touch of spice and herbal notes . Darker fruit on the palate , redcurrant and blackcurrant touches . Very good fresh acidity , tannins firm up after a while , though they are very fine and ripe . Long and refreshing finish , touch of liquorice and spice at the end . Good now but will get better , needs a few more years in the cellar really. Very balanced and excellent 2005 that will continue to improve over the next 5-10 years and last another 10 .
