For over 130 years, winemaking practices have remained steady at Francesco Rinaldi, never capitulating to current trends. Francesco crafted Barolos where long fermentations and aging in large Slavonian botti were key in respecting tradition. Today, 90-year old Luciano, with nieces, Paola and Piera produce heartbreaking interpretations of the Brunate and Cannubi vineyards. Brunate lies within two communes, La Morra, and the village of Barolo itself. Known for power and dark fruit characteristics, this estate has always been lauded for showcasing the elegant side of this legendary Barolo Cru.

Yes 2004 is a good vintage yet this wine disappoints. First off cork was brutal to get out and very hard and dry although the wine was stored in perfect conditions. Leathery nose. Very uninspiring and generic taste on day one. Kind of bland and just tart on day two. I will not finish the bottle.
