A great wine in every vintage. Soulful & unique. Clean, fresh melon gives way to herbal accented summer berries. Structured, yet nimble. Palate weight is effortless here. The record is the debut from Kamasi Washington, appropriately titled The Epic. Much like Cibonne, this is bold and courageous. He decided to release triple LP’s for his first two albums, and there isn’t a note of filler on there. Equal parts Coltrane, Tapscott & Pharoah Sanders. He’s a legend already. Great things.
