"Every Burgundy lover has his or her affections. Mine is Griotte-Chambertin," writes Matt Kramer in Making Sense of Burgundy. "Perhaps it's the name: griotte is a wild cherry, and damned if I don't find that exact scent in the wine...The problem with Griott-Chambertin is finding some." It is the smallest grand cru, producing not much more than fourteen hundred cases total (and an average closer to eight hundred cases per year).

Blind tasted. Thought it was a new world pinot. Bright red fruit dominant. Still very young but delicious and enjoyable.

This was decanted for 90 minutes or so and was stunning. Raspberry, lingonberry, and a little blackberry all wrapped with a stunning minerality that we all loved. Killer burg
