The vineyards of Cardedu (car-DAY-do) are in Ogliastra, the mountainous and least populous province on the southeast coast of Sardegna; a land of turquoise shimmer and ragged-dry cliffs. Here the Loi family grows and makes wines from the native varieties Vermentino, Cannonau, and Monica. Alberto Loi is one of the island’s better-known traditional producers but doesn’t think of himself as a natural wine producer; he is not in that hipster giro (circle). Yet all wines are fermented with native yeasts, and there’s dry farming without use of herbicides or pesticides.

I think I opened this too soon and chilled it too long. Need a do-over. Nice funkiness, lots of potential.
