His micro production comes from family owned cliff-dwelling vines he manages and picks by hand in the tiny borgo of Montagna in Valtellina. We’re dead-center in the middle of the prized Valtellina Superiore Grumello DOCG zone, right next to famous ArPePe. Giorgio’s 2009 vintage of Grumello has bright notes of red cherries, strawberries, and summery Italian plums, with an elegance that surprises for a wine at this price point.
