GUARANTEED BEST PROVENANCE: IMPORTED BY AIR FROM ITALY AND STOCKED IN CALIFORNIA Arianna Occhipinti is a stunningly talented winemaker creating some of the most exciting Siciliani wines you can find today. Her "Il Frappato" embodies all that her farmed 40 year old vines and the terroir of Vittoria can express. Arianna's lightly hued red arrives on the palate with red cherries, young raspberries, blood orange peel and blue flowers like violets, with a nice touch of baking spices. There's a tartness to the wine that is pleasing, and a good amount of iron Ibleian earthiness coming through.

Light bodied, red fruited, a little grapey in a pleasant way. Has the characteristic Occhipinti length and touch of black olive. Nice easy sipper.

Bright and fresh with medium body. Floral notes on the nose with some earthiness on the palate. This wine is light on its feet and a good food wine.

I love the general theme of the wine (light, juicy, and long) but this had a reductive quality that took away from its performance tonight
