Certainly a Brunello through and through. Great with bistec a la fiorentina, but a bit past it's prime. Oak notes dominate. Fading dried cherries, an attractive strawberry and flower top note, some licorice, leather, dried leaves, tobacco, although none of the meaty and truffly characteristics I would have hoped for. Good acidity and structure, but a bit shrill and thin. Good, by all means not great. And the wood notes overwhelm at this point.
