A tasting of nine Rhys Chardonnays spanning 2007-2019. The 2012 Horseshoe is an elegant, gorgeous wine.

Prepping for NYE with a split if this...unlike the selyem the other day, this has depth, and much more going on in the flavor and aroma department...lemon, flowers (lavender? And hint of fennel?), slate...smooth yet strong acidic backbone...need to have next to a Chablis and compare...

12' Rhys Horseshoe vineyard Chardonnay. Old world meets new? Classic! The chard is simply singing (Yes Cali Chard), Lemomgrass, acid, minerals. Just a beautiful wine! There's not a chance in hell I would've guessed a West Coast Chardonnay!
