Initial aromas like an old chest of drawers - then sooty, earthy notes with dry sour cherries with menthol. After a few hours an Animale note. These old Italians have virtually zero fruit showing - all savouriness. Good length finishing with Medium minus tannins. No more cellaring required. This was No. 3822 of 13,333 bottles produced. I am not across all of the different Cuvées from the Produttori but have had good experiences with Rabaja and Asili.

From near the river on the flat land Rio Sordo. Mature and one of the winemakers favourites. Nose of caramelised sugars - oxidised characters. Nose more advanced than the palate - the latter having great length.
