As much as I love Prévost La Closerie on release (especially 18 and 19), allowing some bottle age for it to fill out and come into its own really does take it to the next level. LC14 is in the perfect spot flaunting powerful, rounded and rich stone fruit with smoky minerals, toasted hazelnuts and a vibrant and chiseled palate with a touch of salinity on its super persistent finish. Pinot Meunier from the master, it just can’t be matched.

Pure, crystalline. I only had a sip, but this was impeccable, clean and long.

Very yeasty on the nose with Granny Smith Apple notes and pronounced minerality. 94% Pinot Meunière 2% Pinot Gris, 2% Chardonnay, and 2% Pinot Noir. Wild fermented and aged 10 months in barrels; 2.5grams/Litre dosage. Only 13,000 bottles made so it is difficult to source in Australia. Consumed this Champagne in Zalto Burgundy glasses like I had been advised to do with Jacques Selosse, a close colleague of Jerome Prevost. As both of these producers say these are wines first and Champagnes second so why not Burgundy glasses. Finishes very dry with cleansing acid. LC14 - year of harvest. Good and different.

BYO Prevost to Tulum is always a good idea. As much as I know I should wait, can’t help myself - 14s are delish. And word to the pairing-wise, champagne and yucatecan food are a knockout combo.

Rose petals, lemons, and then a pop of grapefruit. I like it. I want more to drink
