I still don't get all the hype. Not fun and not worth the money.

I've fallen in love with the 2013 vintage. It's charming, aromatic, ethereal, elegant and straight-up delicious. The wines are remarkably different from 2012, which speaks to the complexities of farming in a mutable climate, so close to the Pacific Ocean. Real wine is transparent to the place where it was grown, but also to the vintage. We strive to produce wines that reflect the best qualities of the year in which the grapes were grown. In this way they become historical, agricultural documents that can transport us to a singular place and time.

Fresh forward light red fruit, rhubarb and fennel seed, tense acid and puckery cranberry/pomegranate, favorite wine of the afternoon. Lovely to meet you @Jasmine Hirsch !

This is in a great place right now, even better in a few more years.

How all other California Pinot should be. Light, elegant, floral, and so deep and complex. Beautiful use of oak that does not overwhelm the grape.

On the nose; fresh strawberries still on the vine, mint, cherries, raspberries, cola, limestone minerals and fresh red florals. On the palate; lean to medium body, fresh, ripe, strawberries, cherries, pomegranate extract, dark cherries, touch of raspberries, dark spice comes on as it opens up, limestone, volcanic minerals, perfect level of silty chalkiness, mint, fruit tea, crushed rock powder, cola, red vines, fresh, brilliant acidity and a well rounded, polished fruit driven finish. Photos of; Hirsch Vineyards, crush facility, 2014 night harvest (beautiful fruit) under lights when it's cooler (better to harvest fruit when it's cooler)and living legend David Hirsch.
