this ’64 minuto riserva was mostly a whisper, showing earth, moss, top soil, rain, and rose, and when the classic initial burst of damp april must fades there’s an incredibly clear and all-consuming dried red cherry wrapped in, like, the leather of some mint condition ‘90s lexus sedan garaged for years in the desert. that kind of beige leather that’s a little bit tighter to the hand and smells a little sweet on a warm day. cherry cough drop and ricola super loud on the palate, too, tannins virtually invisible. some acidity elevating the mid-palate, but really not much. the finish, though, is super long and all desiccated red cherry and dayquil and wet leaves and sometimes something like tobacco wrapped in caramel.

Really robust and full of life. Loads of extract on a very primary nose. A bit blocky but astonishingly vigorous. Quick finish.

Cloudy, brick red color. Nose was very elegant with dried red fruit, dried flowers, subtle spice and earth. Tannins were completely mellowed but acidity was still remarkably fresh. Evolved for 20 minutes in the glass and then fell apart. Decant very gently and drink now.

Singing in a rooibos tea way. Maybe my 20th bottle of this and each is equally great

Fantastic texture. Solid aromas of cedar and roast meat. Bloody and spicy on the palate. A little past its prime, but I'm not complaining. 1964 vintage

Interesting old Barolo (1964). Still highly acidic, a little bit pruny, but good leather, tar, and earth. Served first with a lamb ragu and tagliatelle.

The color going into the decanter is similar to an old port. Nose of earth, dark ripe plum, fresh soil, rose, fig and dried mushroom. The pallet is so lush. Rose petal and red fruit. A bit spicy on the finish. I wouldn't wait much longer to drink this beauty.
