A very steely austere Pinot grin that too cold climate but so distinctive.

I think i am one of the few who has back vintages all the way to 2009. So I take these reviews seriously. Even the winery has little if any left. This is extraordinary - fresh raspberries and the E&M classic black forest herbs. Mostly thyme. Cardamom, lime, crushed marble. If you have the wine - taste how this wine unfolds. I would not decant this! Drink up this vintage. And would drink this from 5-60 min after opening. On the super elegant light side. Color almost like a Rose. The E&M style is always there, the quality super high. But sometimes there is variability from vintage to vintage. This is ethereal and super light on its feet but has a depth which is difficult to explain.

Second bottle this week. Same vintage 2014 what a difference! Out of the gate awesome. The other bottle was just flawed. I took it off the website. Refined cherry

Herbal shapeshifter. I think this one needs some time. Drink the Liaison now.

Ridiculous pale in color. Thyme nose. White pepper and dark berries but which one? in the glass. Genius wine making in the bottle in a difficult year. Needs days to open up. I not kidding!!!

Very light in color. Grows on sandstone - old vines. Extremely difficult to read at this stage. The classic herbaceous terroir of the sites north of Freiburg on the slopes of the black forrest shines through. Chalky after 3 hours the wine mellows out. Tight this needs at least 5 years in the bottle. Since I collect these I know this will be incredible down the road therefore the high rating. For experts only

Similar impression to the last vintage though maybe a little leaner, if such a thing is even possible! This is probably the palest, most ethereal red wine in the world.

Tricky vintage. Was expecting a bit more from this to be honest. Bottle variation?
