Pale red color; a bit funky, smokey smell; taste is bone dry, bright, strawberry, but not at all juicy; light tannin, good finish. Very enjoyable and great for food.

Best Gamay in America candidate. Pale garnet, fresh strawberries and raspberries, violets, a little spicy and herbal. Disappears fast

If you take into price and probably the nicest winemaker in California, this is phenomenal. In a lineup of Beaujolais this would probably land in the middle, but there is such great cherry flavor, some spice, white pepper, hint of jolly rancher. Pure joy to drink.

El Dorado gamay. Got to be a labor of love. Label reads “life is so serious, pleasure hard won.” Very light bodied, pure strawberry and a silky. Listed at 12.9 abv but seems like less. Retailing for $24 which is pushing it.
