Clear yellow-greenish color; nose of pineapple, stone fruit, goose berries, black currant, and a newly opened plastic toy soldier; steely but balanced high acids on the palate, mostly citrus, halogen minerals, herbs and liquorice and a long mouth-watering finish with a hint of sweetness. This is a well-made Sancerre and the remaining bottles in the cellar won’t be long lived. Had with creamy fish soup and Dmitri Hvorostovsky, the late great Russian barytone, singing Moskow nights in the background.

Beautiful classic Sancerre on the nose: gooseberry, grass, fresh snap pea and a touch of bell pepper. Even some minerally sea breeze. Great palate: lemon peel, under ripe mango, minerals, and zippy acidity. Delicious classic Sancerre.
