Really cool expression of chard. High acid, mineral driven, focused, reductive matchstick tone.

Early on, even with a significant chill, there’s quite a nose. VERY funky, rooty, vegetal nose. Like a somewhat musty broom closet, fresh cut green pepper, or freshly dug up roots, with hints of yellow fruit, crisp apple and slight citrusy notes emerging as it warms and opens up. It’s medium bodied, creamy though, with a silky texture and crab apple, starfruit, chamomile, and citrusy acidity that ends in an almost menthol-y and minerally finish. The citrus is still impressive considering it’s almost 10 years old, it honestly could’ve been bottled a year ago! This one is interesting and the palate lingers forever! Jura, whew!

So much going on in this awesome Chardonnay from Jura. For a second, green bell pepper and celery seed but then popcorn kernel and smokey tar. Chablis level acidity with a rich mouth coating carrying flavors of lemon, yellow apple, celery salt, and chamomile.

Natural fermentation is the best part of this wine. Also the mouth feel.
