Truncated party notes. Very unique. Nutty, hickory nuts specifically. Honey, dried dates. Not particularly sticky in the mouth. Zingy acids.

Honey, dried hay, stone, and rubber... Less interesting than 2008 could be the bottle.

Total sensory play, you know what Chenin Blanc taste like...right? Through it out the window, clear your head for this. This was a stunner, peach, cream and petrol nose. Slightly sweet but not, hint of saline and wet concrete. Full mouth-coating. I enjoyed this on the pop of the cork and three hours later showed no signs of fading. Thank you @Bill Bender for the experience!

So this is my 2000th wine posted on Delectable and such a cool unique wine to commemorate the occasion. I think @Shawn R and @David L did an excellent job at capturing the relatively magic nature of these Chenin Blancs from Huet. The Le Mont, from the clay soils of premiere cote’ is quite amber in the glass; shows spectacular finesse and length, pronounced acidity and concentrated penetrating fruit. The absolute best Chenin I’ve ever had.

Seemed advanced and rather dull. Good depth, medium length. Wasn't as balanced as I had hoped. From 375.

Sweet but not cloying; balanced with great acidity. Long finish. Honey and a bit beeswaxy. Some hints of apricot. Keeps you coming back for more.
