One of my older wines. 2002. Opened up a little oxidized, but weirdly that seems to have blown off. Gorgeous dark color, I wish I could tan like this wine. Honeysuckle. Melon. Great acidity. These are brilliant wines.

Stunner...killed with a creamy lobster and celery root pasta. Honey, lemon verbena, green apple, floral elements, drinking young still

According to my drinking mates, lots of over the hill bottles of the 2002.. Add this to the data

Half bottle. In wonderful shape, delicious to drink now but would gain more complexity. Bruised apple and lemon, woolly musk, honey on the palate. Ever so slightly oxidative but plentiful acid.

Gold color, it initially showed some hints of sherry on the nose, but those faded and honeyed fruit took over with air. It seemed to get fresher and the acidity more pronounced as the night went on, which brought out more nuance. A very good showing for a wine that has shown variability.
