Raveneau‘s 2013 Valmur is electric from the first pour wafting killer yellow fruit intensity, white chocolate, white flowers, notions of sea breeze and a little botrytis influenced saffron. The palate is deep, waxy and rich with balanced zippy citrusy acids and a crushed oyster shell minerality that gives way to a considerably long, focused and lifted finish. Fantastic bottle.

Wow. This has a crazy nose. Pretty tropical for Raveneau: peach, lychee, hints of melon. There’s the classic undertow of limestone but the expansive flavors are what hits you. Pretty forward but still has a lot to give. Very pure and exciting. As time goes by in glass there’s more salinity coming through. A great wine. Slightly atypical.

2013 Raveneau Valmur Chablis. Repq catering. Opened it 4-4.5 hours later. It needed the time and was delicious when we poured into the glass out of the bottle. Could have even opened it earlier, but was great at 4-4.5 hours.
