Cigar and dried fruits. Subtle with a few years to go.

This one reminded me of rioja for a few minutes, until the whole charcuterie board came through.

Showing everything that it has, and what a nice bottle tonight. These CDP's get very soft and quite medium bodied when they are reaching the end of the line. Definitely over the hill, but hiding tertiary notes well. Sweet tobacco and cigar ash, figs, and a dirty bing cherry all on the front. Gives way to more of an herbal-rich middle and harder, bramblier finish. I love to taste these CDP's on the other side of the hill. Impressed by this bottle, as the complexity here certainly shines on this 20 year old CDP.

My dad bought a case of this intending to have us drink it at my wedding. Got married at city hall instead and this is the second to last bottle!!!

Probably the best red wine I've ever drank. Very complex flavor, initially a bit spicy, ate it on the new kitchen table in Exton with the whole family and Auntie Pearl the day after getting back from China.

Good, not wow. Still some of the dark and leather but mostly just a tired bottle of wine waiting to be drank.
