Really lovely wine. Typical of the vintage. Rich, silky and integrated.

I have had other bottles of this vintage of Chateau D'Issan that were superior. This particular bottle was weak and thin on the palate and nose This bottle showed nothing of the greatness of the 2005 vintage. It showed nothing of the depth of flavors I would expect. Hopefully an aberration.

Notwithstanding being a tad past its prime it was fun to pour.

Drank with roasted lamb (rosemary and garlic) at dad’s for Easter dinner. Wonderful lamb and great pairing. Not a long finish but good Bordeaux flavor. Some earth, some mild spice, light plum.

A wine that improves a lot after an hours decant! Typical tar and minerals of Margaux, with an undertone of ripe red red fruit. Nice aromatics on the front end too.

Needs 30-60 minutes of air to open showing pretty red fruits, leather, nice spice with notes of tobacco.
