Fantastic. Just the right amount of aggression; leathery, peppery, violet, briar, meat. Yum.

Colour shows what’s to come: still superyoung, tight, dense, purple. Concentrated and closed with a hefty dose of toasted new oak (which is biggest on the nose). Blackcurrants, dark cherries, vanilla, kola nut and chocolate. Alcohol is very evident on nose. An infant structurewise with gripping tannins and racy acidity. Still much closed up after two hours. You’d do best to wait with this one for 5-10 years at least for a much more rewarding experience.

Interesting wine. Complex array of flavors, but slightly lean and tart through the middle. It worked pretty well with burgers. A fun wine, but maybe not something I’d want to drink too often.

Very consistent in style, compared to the last vintage, except for the tannins, which are angular and distracting from the usual, generous black fruit and wet slate I expected. A good red, but it's currently unbalanced and needs a couple more years in bottle for the tannins to integrate.

Decant. Interesting after 30 Min. A lovely brooding wine that unfolds with time.
