New Allocation of A True American Icon from the 98-Point Vintage

February 22nd, 2018

As you are aware Robert Parker has declared the 2013 vintage, “the greatest vintage I've tasted in 37 years visiting Northern California” and for well over a year now, Antonio Galloni has been touting it as a “modern day classic.” The truth is, 2012 and 2013 is a legendary back-to-back Napa Cabernet vintage run that can be compared to Bordeaux’s legendary 2009 and 2010 duo. Regardless of whether a wine scored 94 or 100 points, the overwhelming response and reviews are a testament to the vintage and it is an exciting one to watch that will surpass 2012 in many bottles as there is more balance and verve to the wines.

There is always a consistent classicism to it: the Alexander Valley is a rare and true 100% Cabernet Sauvignon bottling – something to which few major producers are dedicated. Like great traditional Rioja, it is aged exclusively in American oak barrels; the wines are released with age, maturity, and value so that they are accessible upon release; and the wines are delivered under 14% alcohol. Few wines are as reliable as the Alexander Valley, and that is why it is routinely found on Wine & Spirits Magazine’s Restaurant Top 50 list of top selling cabernets.
