The Spur - made of BDX varieties grown in Livermore Valley - has a nose that won’t quit. Plum, blackberry and black cherry aromas are as dark as the wine’s color. Whiffs of leather, anise and mocha layer onto the fruit. The palate follows suit, with earth notes and a wonderful tannic structure and acidity to boot.

Wow! This wine is really good..actually thought this was a 2014 and was a little taken back when I pulled the cork...oh well it's a 2017! First wine from Livermore Valley! Bordeaux in style. Dark ruby red in color with a clear rim! Balance is the star of this gem...it has it all! Fruit..black cherries, blueberries, plums; great acidity; earth qualities equal the fruit giving leather, tea leaves, cigar box and baking spices! Probably a bit young but really delicious now! Ninety min decant!
