The weekend has started and I have opened the 2015 Marqués de Murrieta Finca Ygay Reserva Rioja. A blend of 80% Tempranillo, 12% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha. On the nose this is a beautifully complex aroma with black cherry, blackberry, plum, licorice, perfumed notes, violets, spice, vanilla, some oak and earthiness. O the palate is black cherry, blackberry, plum, star anise, clove, spice, oak, vanilla and earth. This wine is full bodied silky mouthfeel with high acidity and medium + fine integrated tannins that move wonderfully into a long dark fruit licorice finish. Have a wonderful weekend everyone, we are moving into a deep freeze and snow for the weekend. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy yourselves. Nostrovia!

2018 vintage. A tad tight but for the $17 resto cost from the distributor, we'll suck it up. Really nice value and you could do a lot worse in Reserva Rioja land. 3.6.24.
