Notes of sweet juicy cherries, elderflower, and ripe blueberries, graphite, mushroom, and forest floor with hints of clay, leather shop, and powdered sugar in the bouquet. Light-bodied maroon red with sharp tannins with tart cherry, plum, cranberry notes and a strong white tea tannins lingering on the finish. Tannins slightly chalky; needs good decanting. Fun and interesting value to try.

I should have read the back of the bottle before I started drinking this—which recommended opening at least 3-4 hours before consuming. Last glass was the most complete but this wine is still very young and green. Would love to try again in ten years time. Potential is there!

Decided to give this one another go since I liked it so much last time. Didn’t detect as much cooking oil viscosity as last time but it’s still quite rich. Stimulating bouquet with layered scents of mixed red and black fruit (red cherry & plum, blackberry, fresh bramble), strong savory notes of aged leather, mushroom, game, and barnyard-y smells, spicy oak notes of cloves, cedar, and smoke… and I think I detect some anise seed and sandalwood? On the palate more red n black fruit together including red cherry, blackberry, and blueberry, notable black pepper lingering with smoothed out but grippy tannins on a medium finish. This would probably age well; still a fantastic value for a Friday night from Jura the Underdog

A cloying mix of Poulsard, Pinot Noir & Trousseau. It’s slightly dry with swirling raspberry flavours. Update: We had this bottle over two nights and, on night two, it was a different experience. The fruit gave way to something all the more funkier and almost hay like. All in all an interesting ride.

This needs at least 5-7 more years. After 4-hr decant, lovely aroma with hints of future glory, bright fruit, astringent tannin. Like Barry White—this wine has so much love to give. Just needs a bit. Elegant rusticity.
