Dark rubi robe and no sign of the age, nose of tobacco, blackcurrant, roasted pepper notes and a hint of flowers. Not a blockbuster like the 89 but this is elegant, complex, and oh soo good. No rush but probably no more development. Excellent bottle of classical claret.

Color : Red Wine estate : Château Montrose Designation : Saint-Estèphe Name : Saint-Estèphe Grand Cru Classé Country : France Vivino : 4.5/5 Note : Opening of this Montrose for a birthday, her bloody red robe, dense and beautiful. A nose of tobacco, chocolate and leather. Once in the mouth, we feel the explosion of tannins with red fruit flavors. It concludes very gently with notes of tobacco to give us time to recover from this trip.

A bit out of my league, but incredible. Funk, ash, herbs de Provence, licorice. Opened slowly, as expected. Pure velvet after an hour. Probably the only opportunity I'll have to try this.
