OoLaLa got a taste of this beauty. Blend of 39% Syrah, 37% Grenache & 22% Mourvèdre, aged in new French oak. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral and spice. On the palate strawberry, plum and black cherry flavors with sweet herbs and exotic rustic spices, well balanced. Long finish with complex fruit, sweet vanilla cedar and mineral ending. Tasting Sample!

Bought this bottle on one of my first wine yard trips in the southern Rhone valley. From the vintage of my boy's birth, I decided to keep it until I could share it with him on his 20th birthday, which is today. The cork was dry and broke when I tried to open it, but I decanted it. The musky tones if the Mourvèdre prevailed on the nose, but in the mouth, the warmth of the Grenache took over, while the finish was distinctively spicy Syrah. Altogether a fantastic celebration.

Oh gosh gimme gimme. Dried berry fruit, dusty rusty tannin, humming acidity and just the tiniest oak influence. Forest floor and extraordinary length.

Château dates back to 1560, records suggesting back to 12th century making it one of oldest estates in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC region near Avignon. Ruby with aromas of red fruit. Blend of about even amounts Grenache, Syrah, Mouvèdre & splash of mostly Cinsault. Aromas of berry fruits, oak & sweet spice. On the palate flavors of raspberry, cherry & blackberry, hints of oak, leather, vanilla spice & black pepper, aged in 20% new oak, complex & elegant, fine soft tannins, long finish, will age well.
