Here's a deliciously spicy drink that's a great apéritif for Mexican food or any casual meal. We suggest using an amber beer, but light beers will work wonderfully as well.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
Zest and juice of 2 limes, divided
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce, such as Tabasco, divided
4 (12-ounce) bottles very cold amber beers
Method:
Combine salt, zest and chili powder on a small plate. Put lime juice in a shallow bowl and dip rims of 4 (12-ounce) glasses first in lime juice, then in salt and zest mixture. Put 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce and 2 teaspoons of the remaining lime juice into each glass and then carefully top off with a beer.
