Medium ruby, youthful, simple medium aromas of red cherry, red plum, nectarine, strawberry, raspberry, and violet. Dry, medium acidity, low tannin, medium alcohol and light body. Flavors of kirsch, violet, strawberry and raspberry. Medium finish. Drink now

Served chilled to 65F, the odd nose gives off buttered mushrooms, bay leaves and dried pomegranate. This mushroom potpourri leads to an even more disappointing blanket of a softy’s singular palate of sour pale earthy cherries. I had expected a brighter, fresher more youthful fruit of excitement and intrigue. NOT my glass of wine.

Rich ruby color, medium bodied. Pronounced nose of blackberries, plum, and fresh grapes. Juicy on the palate with notes of fresh grapes, blackberries, dried prunes, red raspberry tartness and the faint touch of pepperiness and medicinal on the finish.

I had the 2001 vintage. Aged very well, aroma of caramel, jammy and woody hints. Smooth well balanced with ripe fruit notes and medium tannins.
