Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines come from the Southern Rhône and exude Old World Charm. Famed critic from Vinous, Josh Raynolds has described recent vintages in highly positive terms, so this wine should be a winner. Try with all kinds of meat dishes.

Popped and poured; no formal notes. This was showing its age tonight with overwhelming notes of leather, like a freshly oiled baseball glove. Behind that, however, was a bucket of desiccated dark and red fruits, spices, and damp earth. The finish was rich and almost sappy…but seemed to be all bravado as the energy waned as the wine sat in the glass. What structure was there in its youth has all but disappeared as both tannin and acid would be considered low. Drink now and enjoy while there’s still some life left.

Absolutely bangin' Châteauneuf-du-Pape for the money. Kirsch, petrichor, dried lavender, Herbes de Provence, and dark chocolate ganache.

Is there a more classic pairing than CdP and Doritos? I give this wine higher marks than its other reviewers. This 2019 is in a sweet spot. Very light and lush, like a pinot noir. Raspberries, plum, and earth. Not a lot of spice. Low acidity, low tannins, but not like it's over the hill. It's not what I expected, but it's really really good. Listening to Ike Reilly

Beautiful plum color with hints of ripe berry on the nose. Smooth tannins and light, Maybe not as complex as we were expecting. Nice drinking wine.

A hint of the parent. Really funky nose. Opened into a classic Chateau nuff. Raisins. Figs. Lighter fare.

Picked this up at whole foods, first impressions kinda tight with hints of promise... Let's see how it does after it's open awhile .

Good! This is a big one - leather and heft but not smoky per se. Ink and plum. Great with steak.

Delicious blend that hints at leather, pepper, and anise. Complex and interesting throughout.
