The nose is rather tame and does not accurately tell what is experienced on the palate. It's mostly gun smoke and flint driven, with hints of citrus. The palate however, is much more revealing. Heavy acid, very tart citrus, and chalky minerality.

I will preface this by saying that I've been spoiled with Sancerre after living in Switzerland for 5 years, just across the border from France - so my Sancerre standards are on the high side. This one had a lot of grapefruit and a bit of orange peel. There was a prominent honey finish that lingered and was nice, but it added sweetness where I would have preferred the citrus and acidity to remain dominant.
