Extracted, yet value derived. Shows the fruit easily enough, but falls short on the herbaceous and botanicals, though expected.

It's Friday and I'm ready for my Cabernet fix. This week it's one from Washington State. Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim. Fruity nose with blackberries, blueberries, cherries, raisins, figs, vanilla, licorice, oak, spices, earth, leather, green tea and black pepper. Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs. Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, vegetables, leather, earth, chocolates, peppercorn and pencil lead. Medium plus on the finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries. This Washington Cabernet is drinking very nicely now. Well balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Showing a nice structure with ample black fruits and a touch of earthiness. Last time I had it, it needed an hour to open up properly. I used the #VSpin this time, for 10 minutes, and it did the trick, and brought in tannins and complexity. Will be good in the next couple of years. Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a cheese plate, nuts and crackers. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $17.

This Washington state Cabernet Sauvignon is always enjoyable. Showing black fruits with chocolate notes and wood, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, vanilla, earth, coffee, cola, tobacco and peppercorn. Full bodied with medium acidity. Fruit forward with nice length on the finish and round tannins. This 4 year old is drinking very nicely now. Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (30 minutes) 14.5% alcohol by volume. 88 points.

For the price ($17) this is a freaking awesome cab. The cherry and tobacco notes are strong. It may not linger like a much more expensive cab, but that isn’t a problem, just a preference. Yum!

My third bottle of this in the past week. There's no question this is one of the best values in all of wine. Ripe plum, soy sauce, sautéed orange peel, with fresh ginger, and seasoned with Old Bay. Lots of grip and needs 45 minutes to an hour to really get going, but after that it's like drinking for free...

This wine has a dry nose with hints of strawberry and cedar. The wine has flavors of boysenberry, cocoa, and maybe cherry. It has a very dry finish which was a little rough when first opened. But as other reviewers have said, it improved after being opened for a while. Then the finish was an kind of fancy bread flavor that was very good. This was a Particularly good deal at Costco for only $12 a bottle. It was one of the last 2015’s, mixed in with a whole bunch of new or 2017’s.

Black cherry and a decent amount of clove up your nose. Resinous and leathery footnotes, it's aging. Fruity and tannic enough to go for at least another 5, but perhaps missing body and intensity. Really enjoyable though and not creeping into the zinf zone which is a plus for me.

Was very good with a rôti. The bottle could have take 2 or 3 years in the cave, but it was still a really good.
