The 2018 Hayne Petite Syrah is in its youth as expected for these epically long lasting wines. Opaque with a bright cherry edge in the glass, it has an oaky, creamy nose. It’s tight with drying tannins right now, but hints of dark berries, cassis, and an earthy graphite show through and give hope for a great future.

Very nice wine but a bit on the expensive side. Smooth and silky, even young

Dark purple color but maybe a twinge lighter in color than the Pesenti. Sugar plums, blueberries, and milk chocolate on the nose. Massive tannins and tons of fruit, this wine is packed with flavor. Full-bodied it coats the mouth and the finish is quite long. Amazing wine, this one can stand the test of time, and probably should. Used the Coravin on this for a small taste. Will lay it down in the cellar for a bit along with its twin.
